Some courthouses have someone whose job is to help people in court. This person is called a victim/witness staff. Before you go to court, you will meet with this person and he or she will show you around the courthouse. The victim/witness person will help you on the day of court. He or she will let you wait in an office before you testify, and get you a drink if you want one. He or she will help you talk to the crown attorney about any worries and help you understand what happened once court is over.
